Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Escape Recruitment are working with an exciting, specialised manufacturing client, who are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing design team.
The role:
- Support mechanical requirements for the design, development, integration and commissioning of product range.
- Create technical specifications, design specifications and test procedures for mechanical systems.
- Mentor junior members of the team, review designs and check drawings.
- Generate Bills of Material and specifications.
- Identify and analyse technical problems, determining appropriate solutions and follow-ups.
- Liaise technically with key suppliers for component selection and production support.
About you:
- Extensive mechanical experience working within a similar role and environment.
- Experience in Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar 3D modelling packages is essential.
- Experience of supervising and mentoring others within the team.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and utilise decision making abilities.
- Perform engineering calculations and undertake appropriate analysis.

About this job: |
To provide the sustain and design engineering services for the ongoing support and design of Mechanical systems in Aggreko manufactured products.

Your key responsibilities: |
Support Mechanical systems requirements capture & management, design, development, integration, validation and commissioning activities for the complete Aggreko manufactured product range
Creation of technical specifications, functional design specifications and test procedures for Mechanical systems.
Create and maintain accurate Bill of Material and part specifications for efficient supply and assembly of Aggreko manufactured products.
Contribute to writing Mechanical system sections of O&M Manual for End Users.
Engages in providing Mechanical engineering support to both manufacturing and the operating companies.
Provide SME support to major technical quality investigations.
Support OEM led RCA investigations, and act in the best interests of Aggreko and hold them accountable to resolution where appropriate.
Ensures that the Mechanical engineering aspects of the products are selected, engineered and packaged to meet a variety of applications and environments, taking into account efficiency of operation, reliability, maintainability, flexibility and lifetime costs of ownership.
Develops the Mechanical engineering aspects of the existing and new product ranges to achieve operating and manufacturing improvements and to meet new needs in the marketplace. This includes adapting the products to meet entirely different applications and the needs of new business sectors.
Carries out technical liaison with key suppliers regarding the selection of components, their support in production and subsequently throughout the lifetime of the product.
Supports the improvement of HSE performance via product design and operational guidance ensuring safety is given top priority. Assists the Risk Assessment process for design and field issues.
